Studying Foundation Degree in Business & Management
Traditional university was never an option for me, but I knew that I wanted to gain qualifications somehow. I’d tried other distance learning providers and although I achieved good grades something was missing- I felt isolated and alone even though I was studying with an organisation which had thousands of students. I began to feel like just a number rather than an individual to the organisation and the necessary support to study from home just wasn’t available. In the end I decided to leave and stumbled by chance upon Kaplan on the internet and for me it has been the best decision I’ve ever made.
Through not only the support offered (I can’t say enough good things about the academic advisors who are on hand when you need them to answer questions, give advice or even just reassure you) but the way the courses themselves work. I no longer feel isolated and in many senses I feel like part of a real class at a ‘normal’ university- you get to know your fellow students through the discussions and during seminars it’s easy to forget that you aren’t really in the same room as everyone else.
As for the tutorial support, it is far superior to that of any other learning provider I’ve used and I have tried many places. Through a combination of the courses themselves (which are interesting, informative and very enjoyable) and having an amazing tutor who was passionate about the subject and really brought it to life, I discovered a real passion and ability for HR. I never expected to have one of those defining life moments whilst studying but now not only am I gaining a foundation degree but I also have a new focus, a new life direction and a plan for the future which is fully support by and because of Kaplan.
There is nowhere else I would go to study or recommend to a friend but Kaplan. I firmly believe it is the only place to go to study business and management and receive this superior level of both tutorial and academic support.
