Foundation Degree First

Essex University is to start a wholly online foundation degree from next month. It will offer multiple start dates throughout the year and run for a continuous 52-week academic calendar. Essex has agreed to create a new college to house the course, branded as Kaplan Open Learning, the name of a leading education supplier that will run the course with the university. Scheduled online classes will connect staff and students through both live audio and chat rooms and - perhaps controversially - students can contact their own dedicated academic advisers and tutors outside regular class hours.
