Units
On joining the programme you will study the following units:
- Understanding the Management Role:
Explores the nature and purpose of
organisations, including missions, values,
key stakeholders, functional areas and
managerial roles.
- Leading Teams:
Analyses how the
organisation manages its individuals to
achieve its stated goals and objectives, as
well as explaining the importance of
direction and values in creating effective
teams.
- Managing Projects in the Organisation:
Develop your knowledge and
understanding of managing projects as
required by a practising or potential
middle manager.
- Developing the Reflective Manager:
Understand how to develop yourself as a
reflective learner, capable of leading a
group in creative problem solving.
- Managing Improvement:
Evaluate the
organisation’s effectiveness in managing
quality to meet or exceed customer
requirements.
- Making a Financial Case:
Develop an
understanding of financial management
such as payback, ROCE, DCF and NPV as
required by a practising or potential
middle manager.
- Communication in Management:
Explore
communication theories, concepts and
practises as well as examining the
importance of effective communication for
a middle manager.
- Managing Customer Relations:
Evaluate
the organisation’s ability to manage
customer relations, as well as formulate
actions to improve the management of
internal and/or external customer
relations.
- Managing Information:
Learn how to
gather, analyse and validate information
from a wide variety of sources in order to
aid decision-making and solve problems.
Progression to Diploma
The ILM Level 5 qualification is nested to
encourage progression. This means
credits gained in the Award and Certificate
qualifications can be carried forward into
the Diploma qualification, enabling
individuals to progress their learning
without repetition.
