Q8. What support will I receive from University of Essex Online?
Answer:

We pride ourselves on student support and satisfaction. Whatever your question or problem, whether it is related directly to your studies or to anything affecting your studies, we will work with you to find an appropriate solution.

We have three support functions to help you:

1. Academic Adviser

The role of the Academic Adviser is to support you throughout the course and provide guidance on your progress. Each student will have a dedicated Academic Adviser that will serve as mentor and friend.

Our advisers will be a first point of contact so that you can focus on your studies rather than worry about finding the right phone number.

Your adviser will contact you at the start of your studies, agreeing how and when you prefer to be contacted. You can contact your academic adviser by phone or email.

2. Tutor Support

Your module tutor will be in regular contact with you throughout the course. In particular you will have tutor contact through:

  • Discussion board participation
  • Lectures using Kaplan Live
  • Feedback on course work
  • Responding to your questions by phone or email

3. IT Support

We will do all that we can to help fix your technical problems over the phone. If the problem can´t be fixed immediately, we will contact our systems managers which may take 24 hours.

Whilst we will try to help you with a range of technical problems that are affecting your ability to study, our remit is strictly limited to University of Essex Online.
