1. Introduces models, techniques and skills that will help the entrepreneur manage and control a growing business; and
2. Evaluate the information needs of investors and lenders.

• Sales budgets
• Production budgets
• Stock budgets
• Cash budgets
• Assumptions on credit collection, payment and price
• Sales volume and price variances
• Production cost volume and price variances

Intended Learning Outcomes

• On completion of this module, students will be able to:
• Prepare a budget based around limiting factors of production volumes and sales demand
• Prepare cash flow forecasts from a budget
• Apply understanding of spreadsheets to calculate and present data
• Calculate the impact of changing assumptions using what if analysis
• Critically analyse actual data and compare to forecast to produce a variance analysis
• Evaluate and interpret variances
